Radiofrequency Ablation is often used in conjunction with Sclerotherapy.  Radiofrequency Ablation is a method of using heat to create scar tissue around the vein so the blood is directed away from the affected area and does not pool, allowing it to flow correctly.  The vein is then treated with Sclerotherapy or some other method of pain relief.
